In the midst of a sleety, snowy Wisconsin morning, I have added a photo galley of my day in the Columbia River Gorge last week on a pleasant early spring day in Oregon. We drove along the Old Highway, stopped at multiple waterfalls flush with snow melt, and hiked to Elowah Falls. The trees have yet to bud new leaves, yet the Gorge is awash in vibrant green. Without the distraction of foliage, the ferns and moss take center stage.
